This is a reminder we are trying to organize the bridge books in our library, so if you have borrowed any, please return them. Also if you have any books on bridge you are no longer using, now is the time to donate them. Just leave them in the bridge book return box or on the shelf by it. If there are any books on bridge you would like to see in our library, feel free to make a suggestion.

Our club has a scent free policy. Unfortunately, recent events seem to require a reminder of this. One person vomited after inhaling a scent and another got sick after being exposed to two others. Its serious for people who have allergies. It's not just the obvious perfume or aftershave products. Unfortunately, scented fabric softeners can be very strong and linger on clothing after being laundered. Lotions, shampoos, antibacterial soap and scented candles can leave a residue on your skin and clothing that can affect someone. Please make a better effort in not coming to the club with scents on your clothing or person.

Bridge Laws. All too often a declarer will make a claim when there is still an outstanding trump in the opponent's hand. Once a claim is made, all play is to cease. Usually, the director will be called on it by the opponent with the trump. The director shall award a trick or tricks to the opponents if:
1. The claimer made no statement about that trump, and
2. It is at all likely that the claimer at the time of his claim was unaware that a trump remained in an opponent's hand, and
3. A trick could be lost by any normal play.
So please make it a policy to always draw all your trumps before a claim or explain in your claim how the outstanding trump will not affect the number of tricks you will get.
