THANK YOU'S

A. THE REGIONAL

No tournament is a success without its volunteers. The chairpersons's job is only as successful as the key volunteers in each area. My job was easy as I had great volunteers. One only had to look at June Ogilivie and Harold Jones and their volunteers at the Partnership desk; Kay and Nick Mogus and their volunteers at the Hospitality desk; Liz Warren and her caddies and, of course, watch Alf Keating sell 50-50's to the sum total of $701.50 to people who "never" buy 50-50 tickets! Singlehandedly Frank Bryski and Moe Hnatick collected over one hundred door prizes which were distributed at each of the three sessions Tuesday to Saturday. We have to thank the many people who contributed dainties which Doreen Reid spearheaded. We have to thank Sheila Rodger for taking photographs, Mike Gadd for introducing the guest speakers; Larry Custead for the daily bulletin and of course the guest speakers.

We always have a great tournament which we can be proud to attend because of you - the volunteers. We have developed a REPUTATION!!

Thank you again.

Lil Hemeon

EDITOR'S NOTE: I think we have to thank Lil Hemeon for organizing such a successful regional - she definitely devoted a lot of time and energy so the rest of us could enjoy the regional. This is the sign of a true volunteer.

CLUB

Thank you to Barb Klombies who devotes a great deal of her time to painting and maintaining the boards, repairing table tops, fixing pictures, organizing bidding boxes and many other things

around the club that often go unnoticed. It is greatly appreciated.

EASY BRIDGE

EASYBRIDGE!3 is just over half finished. Besides taking part in lessons, the Easybridgers have also taken part in the Saskatoon Regional and the Erin Berry Rookie/Master game. In the Regional, 6 teams took part in the first Bracketed Knockouts with three teams advancing through the first round and one team winning the 5/8 competition.. A number of pairs took part in the 99er and 199er events. In Novermber, each group will hold a Junior Fund game and a good number of people are planning to take part in the 99er events at the Fall Sectional. In December, each group will take part in the STaC if Evelyn is able to get us permission and will hold a graduation/Christmas party that will end the season until January. In January, games will still be held on Monday evenings and Thursday mornings.

Joy Treleaven

A new session in Easybridge!1 will be starting the week of January 14th. It will go on Monday evenings at 7:15PM (presented by Ken Connell) and Thursday mornings at 9:30AM(presented by June Ogilivie). Anyone knowing of someone interested in taking part in either of these should have them contact Ken Connell at 374-5747 or June Ogilivie at 374-8025 for more information and to register. The format will be the same as last time with a free book and 6 free lessons to begin the series. People from the Club will probably be asked to post fliers and send/give out postcards like last time.
